The SSC represents Shelby Super Cars, a manufacturer of the car. Because of the shape of its rear spoiler, the model name “Tuatara” was derived from the local name of the lizard that live in New Zealand. Butterfly doors, which rise forward around the bottom of the A-pillar, are the vehicle’s main features. The 5.9L twin-turbo V8 engine produces a staggering 1369 or 1774 horsepower, depending on the fuel used.

#12: Aston Martin Valkyrie (2.5 seconds)

The Valkyrie is a supercar with a maximum speed of 402 kph, as if its racing car style appearance and performance were brought onto the public roads. The Cosworth 6.5L V12 engine is designed as a hybrid, giving it a total output of 1176 horsepower. The name of the model comes from the “valkyrie” who appeared in the Nordic mythology. According to the Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, its meaning is to symbolize the power of women.
